Good morning everyone! (Or evening, depends where you live.) Yesterday I went on a day trip to San Francisco. Since the Bay City is relatively close by, I go there quite a bit. It's one of those things that doesn't get old. And since I just made a new blog, I decided to buy some souvenirs.
On the left is a pressed penny. For those of you who don't live in the U.S., or anyone who doesn't know what a pressed penny is, I'll tell you. You insert a penny and two quarters (51 cents) into these vendors in different places around the U.S. You pull the knob around a few times, and voilà, your old penny comes out as an oval with one side engraved into the design you chose. This is only my second pressed penny, but I'll surely keep collecting more. On the right is a postcard. This is actually the first time I'm buying myself one of these. This postcard's picture is taken at the Golden Gate Bridge, perhaps one of the most well-known landmarks in the U.S. It only cost 25 cents, so I payed less than a dollar in all, but came out satisfied. By the way, to see my statistics on my stamps and coins, hover over lists and click on the category you desire. Anyway, thanks for reading, and feel free to comment.

What's up everyone! Today I will show you some new stamps I received as a late birthday gift. As you can see, it is a set of a 100 different world stamps. Let's get right to it.
Countries included- Hungary, Russia, France, Germany, the U.S, Indonesia, U.K., Switzerland, Nepal, Spain, Belgium, Poland, Romania Collector's Highlights- Even though the majority of these stamps are small, there are some big, beautiful ones in there too. Right below we see two great Swiss bird stamps. On the left is a Parus Major, also known as the Great Tit. It is found throughout Europe, including the Alps. To its right is a Fringilla Coelebs, also known as a Common Chaffinch. Its breeding ranges throughout most of Europe, from the U.K. to western Asia. All the way down are some of my favorite stamps from the lot. To the left are some large USSR stamps. The two stamps at the top depict paintings by Russian artists. My favorite of these is the 1981 6k stamp with the ship. Anyway, thanks for reading, and if you liked it, more will surely come! |
